Based in Toronto, and with 20 years of experience, Dominican pianist Ana Alvarez is an accomplished piano teacher with a deep passion for both music education and performance. With advanced degrees in Keyboard Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and the Boston Conservatory, Ana has cultivated a rich music career, guiding students of all ages and skill levels.

Ana believes that music-making is transformative and is committed to nurturing this transformation in her students. She emphasizes the importance of active listening and mindful practice, helping students not only master the piano but also discover the joy and artistry that music offers. Her teaching approach is rooted in the development of motor and listening skills, integrating these from the very beginning stages of learning. By fostering curiosity and a love for music, Ana tailors her lessons to each student's unique needs and interests.

Certified by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), Ana prepares her students for RCM practical and theory examinations, as well as ABRSM exams. She is also proficient in the Suzuki method, ensuring a well-rounded musical education. Her expertise lies in the Classical repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary music, and she organizes seasonal recitals to provide students with performance opportunities that inspire and motivate.

In addition to her teaching, Ana has extensive experience in organizing concerts, working with both individual students and larger groups to showcase their progress and achievements. She is dedicated to creating a positive and engaging learning environment, where students can thrive and develop a lifelong passion for music.
